The PTSA is proud to support PBHS seniors who demonstrate academic excellence and involvement in PTSA activities. Seniors who qualify will be eligible to receive scholarships and graduation cords in recognition of their commitment to both their education and school community. To be considered, students must participate in PTSA-sponsored events, maintain good academic standing, and meet all eligibility criteria. The Pompano Beach High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) awards scholarships to graduating seniors to support recipients with higher education expenses. Award selections are made based on academic achievement, service and leadership.
The selection committee consists of PBHS PTSA Board Members/Volunteers. The information that the committee receives will have all personal identifying information of the applicants removed to ensure anonymity and fairness.
Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please complete ALL the requirements listed below.
Requirements
You must be a graduating senior in good standing at PBHS and must have attended PBHS for your entire senior year.
The senior and/or parent must be an active member of PTSA 2025-2026 by March 20, 2026 of your senior year.
You must attend an accredited college, university, technical school or military.
You must have a high school unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applicants should have a minimum of 75 volunteer hours over the four-year high school period.
The PBHS PTSA Cord recognizes Seniors who go above and beyond by volunteering with the PTSA, as well as fostering and enhancing student engagement within our school community. Students must demonstrate a commitment to active participation in school activities, clubs, and community service. This cord seeks to recognize and reward students who contribute positively to the school culture and Golden Mindset.
Requirements:
Active Student PTSA Member 2025-2026 school year
Volunteer in at least 1 PTSA event during senior year
Attend at least 1 PTSA General Meeting
Minimum of 100 volunteer hours
Attend at least 1 school event (sports, concert, play, debate, etc.) per quarter. If you are an active member of a school sponsored club, participate in a sport, or a member of any school sponsored organization (i.e. band, drama, etc.) this will satisfy this requirement.
The Pompano Beach High PTSA is currently accepting requests for funding for any PBHS class, club or organization. The request must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the monthly PTSA Board Meeting or Scheduled General Meeting. Funding requests will be reviewed by the PBHS Principal and PTSA Board and voted on. Requestors are required to attend the monthly meeting and present their case. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month.
